Hey Bob:
Great to hear from you. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and hope you have a very Happy New Year. And that goes to the entire class.
I don't now where we left off, so if I repeat myself, forgive me. (the mind is a delicate thing, especially at our age). I cannot believe I will be 60 this year - that we all will be.... You may remember my parents; my father passed away 3 years ago at 86 and my mother passed this last summer at 87. Wonderful people and they are sorely missed by the family.
2 years ago I joined GameStop, Inc as SVP Marketing and we promptly acquired EB Games. We are now the largest video game specialty retailer in the world with about 4500 stores. We have 3800 stores in the US and, no I don't get any deals on the new Wii from Nintendo and the PS3 from Sony!! We sell new and used games and accessories and buy back old games as well. Interesting business model and it works.
The family is great. Greg (now 32) moved to Chicago from Denver after 14 years to be with his fiancee and make his fortune in real estate. He has his license and is looking for a place to hang it. Cedric -now 30- is still in Richmond ,VA and is a VP with a small Investment banking company there. he bought a house and is living with his girlfriend and dog. We like them both!!
Christine and I downsized this past summer to a smaller home on the golfcourse here in Southlake, TX. We did so with the idea of retiring here. We have lived in TX for 6 years and like it a lot. And no, I don't ride ahorse to work and I don't wear a cowboy hat. But I still have all my hair!
My brother Jeff is still practicing dentistry, but is enjoying life a lot more. He bought a house on the river in Maine and spends his free time there. His daughter and son-in law live close by in Maine and his son married in October and lives outside of Boston. So Jeff and Lynn spend a lot of time between Chicago and Maine.
The job is great. I don't have to travel a lot; I have seen enough airports and hotels. I don't need to do that anymore. It's nice to be home.
Thanks for your note; as always, great to hear from you. Thanks for staying in touch and if you are ever in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, don't be a stranger; come and say howdy!
Best, Jack

Bob: Happy New Year. As always you are doing a great job in getting news from most of us. This has been an interesting year as I have had to travel to the Middle East 5 or 6 times on business. My golfing buddies are convinced I work for the CIA, otherwise why else would I be going there!
My father passed away in November and we moved my mother from Florida to California to be closer to my sister, 3 grandsons and 3 great grandsons. She is settling in okay, but at 86 any move is not easy. At least this way when my brother and I visit, we will see my sister's family as well.
Not much news otherwise. We still like and enjoy Texas. Son, Greg, is still in Denver and enjoying it. No.2 son, Cedric is still in Richmond and also enjoying it. Neither is married and each time Christine asks, they point to each other, so there is no wedding in sight. We don't get to see them often enough, but at least they get home on major holidays.
If anyone is passing through or staying in the Dalls/Ft. Worth area, be sure to look us up.
Best, Jack

Hi Bob:
Thanks for doing such a great job keeping us all in touch. Same old story with me. I am running the International Division for the Bombay Company, a $500 million chain of 450 stores in the US and Canada specializing in home decor, furniture and accessories. We are mostly shopping Mall based in North America.
I run everything outside North America. My division is pretty small as we only started up 2.5 years ago. Have had many trips, especially to Europe and to the Middle East where we have several Licensees. The Middle east is an interesting part of the world right about now. Last trip was in January and I don't plan on go back until things are more peaceful!
Still enjoying Dallas/Ft. Worth. Wife, Christine, is fine as are the 2 sons, Greg aged 29 and Cedric aged 27. Greg is still in Denver and Cedric is still in Richmond VA. Both are single and gainfully employed, but not quite off the parental payroll, if you know what I mean.
Still have all my hair, alto' the gray has crept in; still 185lbs of rompin', stompin' muscular disappointment, as Neil Geddeberg used to say. Haven't played much tennis but I play golf (11 HCP) and keep fit by running and working out. Jeez, can't believe we are all 55. You feel like it? Not me.

Hi Bob: Just thought I would check in. Not much great news other than I returned from an 8 day trip to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Lebanon. Not the first time there, but I continue to be amazed at all the construction and how modern things are in Saudi and Kuwait. Lebanon is still a country of contrasts with bombed out buildings right next to brand new glass sky scrapers. Interesting. Things are fine in Texas. We are preparing for the hot, hot weather, but I am told we will survive.
I will be going to Florida next month to spend a long week end with my parents, brother and sister and families. It is my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Can you believe it. I never thought they would live past my high school years with all the stuff I pulled!! Anyway, I am sure they attribute their gray hair to me.Keep up the good work and if anyone passes through Dallas/Ft. Worth, call me.
Best, Jack
01-04-01. The following is excerpted from an email that Jack sent Jay, and was forwarded to me:
Well hello from Texas... Christine and I spent the last 3 years in VT (altho' 16 months of that we spent in Brussels and Paris. My french is pretty damn good! I was in charge of all the international business for Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. I left when the company was purchased last spring by Unilever and am now VP International for The Bombay Company. Need any home furnishings and decorations? We live in Southlake, just outside of Ft. Worth and I think we will like the area.
Our 2 boys Greg and Cedric came for Christmas. Both are out of college and working; one in Denver and the other in Richmond, VAI would love to hear from some of the class mates. It has been so long. Jay...you mentioned that we know what you have been up to. I don't know... Would love to hear from you.
Anytime anyone is in Dallas, Ft. Worth, please look us up. Happy New Year to everyone.
Best,
Jack

I spoke with Jack in October, but lost my notes.
Jack was in Vermont for the last three or four years, setting up an international division for Ben& Jerry's. He has been in international business for years.
He is now in Texas, setting up an international marketing and distribution system for a furniture manufacturer.
Hopefully he will update us.
